Hello! My name is Emma Tucek, and I am a multi-medium artist based in Chicago, Illinois. I graduated from the University of Dayton in May 2025, where I developed a strong foundation in psychology, human sexuality, violence prevention, and marketing. I primarily work with acrylic paint, crocheting, and sewing, though I explore a wide range of mediums, including embroidery, watercolor, graphite and colored pencils, block printing, collage, and clay.
Art has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. As a child, a babysitter introduced me to painting and sewing, which sparked my lifetime passion for creating. In fourth grade, I took crocheting lessons and quickly fell in love with fiber arts. Art and creativity have remained at the forefront of my life ever since, shaping the way I see, feel, and connect with the world.
I believe in the healing and empowering nature of creativity. I aspire to use my artistic practice, alongside my background in advocacy and education, to support and advocate for those impacted by power-based personal violence.
My work has been showcased in the 2019 Riverside Brookfield Art Show, the 2020 Riverside Brookfield Art Show, the 2021 Riverside Art Center Art Showcase, the 2023 Riverside Arts Weekend Showcase, and the 2024 Art That Empowers YWCA Dayton Art Show. I was also a featured artist at Riverside Arts Weekend in 2022.
